Helen D. Kriley, 92, of Butler, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at her residence while surrounded by her family.

Born March 13, 1929, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Katherine (Hornberger) Carbin.

She worked at the Spaide Shirt Factory, until she became a homemaker to raise her family.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.

She did volunteer work for the Tuesday evening card parties for her church. She also enjoyed playing cards with her family.

She is survived by five sons, Thomas C. (Norma) Kriley of Butler, Kenneth J. (Nadine) Kriley of Parker, Dennis A. (Joyce) Kriley of Butler, Philip G. (Julie) Kriley of Blairsville, and Dale A. Kriley of Butler; and four daughters, Barbara (Donald “Rick”) Smith of Blairsville, Patricia Vardy of Easley, S.C., Carol (Thomas) Michel of Butler, and Donna (Matt) Luchkiw of Butler.

Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Kriley Jr., whom she married July 30, 1955. He passed away Nov. 15, 2003.

She was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Fred, Victor, William, Andrew, Bernard, George, Jim and Philip; seven sisters, Catherine, Margaret, Alice, Marie, Mae, Bertha and Clara; her grandson, Lance Vardy; and son-in-law, Jim Vardy.

KRILEY — Friends of Helen D. Kriley, who died Thursday, March 3, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler, with the Rev. Ward Stakem, pastor, will officiate.

Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
