Benjamin Delano
Dr. Benjamin A. Delano, MD, FASCRS, FACS, formerly of East Brady, Sugar Creek Township, passed away on Dec. 12, 2021, at the age of 46 in Colorado Springs, Colo., after a short illness.
He was born on July 4, 1975, in Butler.
Benjamin was married to the love of his life, Mary Theresa, and was a wonderful father to their four sons, Luke, Grant, Dominic and Levi, who were the absolute center of Benjamin’s life.
Benjamin attended St. Vincent College in Latrobe, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. After receiving his degree, Benjamin attended Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Following his graduation from medical school, he completed his general surgery internship and residency in Houston, Texas, and he pursued and completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Delano was board certified in both colon and rectal surgery, and general surgery. He was a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as an expert in minimally invasive colon surgery with robotics and laparoscopy. Dr. Delano was also a certified physician member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network at Penrose-St. Francis Hospital, where he practiced.
Benjamin loved being with his family, and spent much of his spare time hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, skiing and gardening with his family and his friends.
Benjamin is survived by his wife, Mary Theresa; their sons Luke, Grant, Dominic and Levi; his parents, Arthur Jr. and Rhonda Delano; and his brother, Dr. Matthew J. Delano (Nicole), and his nieces, Gabriella and Josephine.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph; his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Elfrieda Peresie; and his paternal grandparents, Arthur Sr. and Verna Delano.
