Stanley Langston

Langston

Stanley C. Langston, 93, of Cabot, passed away on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born July 15, 1928, in West Winfield, he was the son of the late Hiram R. Langston and Vera Compton Langston.

Stanley was a 1946 graduate of Winfield Township High School.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served from 1948 to 1952.

He worked for 42 years at the cement plant in West Winfield, throughout company name changes, and retired from Armstrong Cement Co. in 1990.

Stanley was a member of the American Legion Post 683.

He was baptized in the Evangelical Church at West Winfield and was later transferred to the Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver. He currently attended Cabot United Methodist Church.

Stanley enjoyed the Pirates and the Steelers, and was an avid golfer.

Surviving are his loving son, Gregory L. (JoAnne) Langston of Butler; his daughter-in-law, Pegenne Langston of Benezette, Pa.; his brother, Howard R. Langston of Butler; his sister, Doris M. Sherwood of Tuscon, Ariz.; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie L. Langston, who died on Sept. 22, 2017; and his son, Stanley C. Langston Jr., who died Feb. 18, 2013.

LANGSTON — A private funeral service for Stanley C. Langston, who died Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, was held for family and church family at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg, with the Rev. Jonathan Fehl officiating.

Private interment was held at Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cabot United Methodist Church.
