Hughes

Sandra L. Hughes, 84, of Saxonburg, passed away Feb. 22, 2022, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born Dec. 2, 1937, in Tarentum, she was a daughter of the late James L. and Annetta R. (Richards) Murray.

Sandra was self-employed and co-owner of the Goodies Galore Bakery. She had previously worked in the bakery department for Kroger grocery store. She baked for a total of 25 years throughout her career.

She was a member of Tops Club, and she enjoyed art, painting and drawing.

Surviving are her husband, Donald L. Hughes, whom she married July 19, 1958; two sons, Donald J. (Kathleen) Hughes of Butler, and Scott (Kimberly) Hughes of Kissimmee, Fla.; her daughter, Tracie (Ryan) Roberts of Saxonburg; four grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, Allyson and Mason; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth (Ralph) Gross of Zelienople; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Weckerly.

HUGHES — Friends of Sandra L. Hughes, who died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
