Jennie Kitt Logan, 97, of Renfrew, formerly of Saxonburg, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, in the comfort of her home.

She was born June 26, 1924, in Lyndora, to Peter and Palagia Kitt.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Paul Kitt.

Jennie was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Raymond, who passed on Feb. 2, 2005.

Jennie was the third female employee hired at Armco during World War II. There, she met her future husband, Raymond E. Logan, and they were married on Jan. 8, 1945. Together, they operated the Logan family farm from 1945 to 1968.

Jennie was a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan. She enjoyed cards, bowling, square dancing and round dancing. She enjoyed playing golf and gardening as well as handicrafts.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Jennie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children whom she loved very much, Bob (Sue) Logan of Butler, Dave (Patty) Logan of Leesburg, Va., Pat (Dave) Macurdy of Butler, and Dick Logan of Renfrew; her grandchildren, Brian, Erin, Megan, Kelly, and twins, Ashley and Amy; and her two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.

LOGAN — Friends of Jennie Kitt Logan, who died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Leigh Benish of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating.

The family requests everyone attending visitation or the service to please wear a mask.

Jennie will be laid to rest at Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jennie’s memory to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
