Evelyn M. Lutz
Evelyn M. Lutz, 89, formerly of New Brighton, New Sewickley Township, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, while under the care of Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, Pa.
Born Sept. 4, 1932, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. Miller and Lila Mae Frazier Miller.
Evelyn was a graduate of the Beaver Falls High School Class of 1950.
She was employed with B&W Tube Mill as a sales and file clerk, and also at Cook-Anderson Lumber Co., where she was a receptionist, bookkeeper and machine operator.
Evelyn grew up in Concord United Methodist Church in North Sewickley Township. She married her beloved husband, Earl W. Lutz, on Sept. 8, 1951. They joined St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Zelienople, where Evelyn served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and played the piano for the children’s choir. She also was a member of the Fidelity Class and Senior Choir.
Evelyn enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, music, playing the piano, traveling, camping, fishing, and above all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Linda Kay Lutz-Hicks and her husband, Loyal “John”, of New Oxford, Pa., William Earl Lutz and his wife, Cecelia, of Ellwood City, Raymond Edward Lutz and his wife, Sherri, of Gloucester, Va., and Neal Matthew Lutz and his wife, Kathleen, of Zelienople; her grandchildren, Benjamin Earl Hicks, Scott Thomas Hicks, Sarah Elizabeth Hicks, William Raymond Lutz, Alicia Marie Lutz, Daniel James Lutz, David Ryan Lutz, Shawn Christopher Evans, Jesse Alan Evans and Adam Laverne Lutz; and her great-grandchildren, Eli Stewart Hicks, Maxwell Loyal Hicks, Skyler James Hicks, Claire Elizabeth Hicks, Isabella Cecelia Alexander, Lily Rose Alexander, Sterling Thomas Hicks, Harper Jean Lutz, Isabella Rose Evans, Hannah Grace Lutz, Henry Oliver Lutz and Harvey Charles Lutz.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Earl William Lutz, who passed away April 29, 2005; and her siblings, Earl F. Miller, Raymond W. Miller, Esther M. Steinbach and Ruth E. Leonberg.
LUTZ — Friends of Evelyn M. Lutz, who died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
Evelyn will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Peter’s Reformed Church Cemetery in Zelienople.
Memorial donations may be made in Evelyn’s honor to St. Peter’s Reformed Church.
