David Allen, 84, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022.

He was born in Erie on June 30, 1937, and was the son of the late Frederick and Evelyn Allen.

David received his master’s in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.

He was employed with the Department of Public Assistance for 32 years, and retired as a supervisor. He also had helped as an ordained minister.

David loved local history research, going to the library, riding his bicycle, magnet fishing, spending time with friends, and enjoyed counseling inmates at the Armstrong County Jail.

He was the beloved husband of Sandi Allen; stepfather of Scot (Heather) Zarnick and Sherry Zarnick; and brother of Mary Jean Wolgemuth.

He is also survived by his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother.
