George Lawrence was born in Lyndora, June 5, 1927, and passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Moon Township on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022.

He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Lawrence) Dandrea and Jennifer (Marcus Belmonte) Geary; his grandchildren, Catherine (Matt) Hemsworth, Lorenzo (Toni) Dandrea, Domenic Dandrea, Lizzie (J.D.) Morgan and Billy (Alyssa) Geary; his great- grandchildren, Jaelyn, Giovanni and Giuseppe; his brother-in-law, Alvin Abels; and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Harriett “Sissy”; his brothers, Butch and John; his sisters, Anne and Marge; and his cherished in-laws.

George was a loving and faithful family man.

He was a World War II, U.S.Navy veteran.

He was a Geneva College graduate and athlete, gardener and wellspring of wisdom and stability.

LAWRENCE — To honor his love of the spring season, burial and a memorial service for George Lawrence, who died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, will be held this spring at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Arrangements have been entrusted to R.D. COPELAND, Moon Township.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
