2 killed, 3 wounded in shooting; Suspect flees, crashes into bus

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A shooting early Wednesday in Pennsylvania’s capital city left two people dead, and authorities said the suspected shooter was captured after a police pursuit that ended when the suspect’s car crashed into a school bus carrying several children.

Three other people were wounded in the shooting in Harrisburg, which occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Harrisburg police said the victims were found inside a residence, all suffering from signs of an assault. The suspect was identified a short time later, but a possible motive has not been disclosed.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting and a police pursuit ensued. It soon ended when the suspect crashed into a school bus in Londonderry Township. The suspect’s name has not been released, and it wasn’t clear if they were injured.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Megan Ammerman said the bus was carrying students who attend a Catholic school in Elizabethtown. She said all of the students were able to safely exit the bus and were later transported to their school.
