Shirley R. Say
Shirley R. Say, 93, passed away at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing Facility in Madison, Ohio, on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022.
Born Feb. 28, 1928, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late George C. Wright and Opal (Martin) Wright.
Shirley served as an organist and choir director at Meridian Presbyterian, St. Andrews Presbyterian, and Bethany UCC in Butler. Also St. Andrew Presbyterian in Sun City, Fla., and Presbyterian Church of Bloomingdale in Brandon, Fla.
Shirley loved music and singing, especially in barbershop quartets. She enjoyed playing card and domino games, plus bingo. She was in a couples bowling league, competed in ballroom dancing, and in addition to her family, she loved her cats and flowers.
Shirley is survived by her children, Karen (Larry) Hutchison of Riverview, Fla., Keith (Diana) Say of Chicora, Brian (Ruth) Say of Madison, Ohio, and her daughter-in-law, Valerie (David) Say of Gibsonia; 29 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, William Say; her sons, David Say and Dennis Say; and her granddaughter, Kristen Chepelsky Morris.
SAY — A private family service for Shirley R. Say, who died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, will be observed at a later date in Pennsylvania.
