John “Jack” O'Toole, 87, of Butler, passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at Sunnyview.

Born and raised in the Beechview section of Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary O'Toole.

John's wife of 56 years, Arlene (McCall) O'Toole, passed away on John's 80th birthday.John attended Connelley Trade School in Pittsburgh, served in the U.S. Navy, and was a longtime employee of the Butler Area School District.He is survived by his four children and seven grandchildren: his son, Timothy, and daughter-in-law, Aleida, of Butler, his daughter, Bridget, and son-in-law, Patrick Donston, of Hoboken, N.J., his daughter, Barbara, and son-in-law, William Harrison, of Butler, and his son, Dan, and daughter-in-law, Laura, of Grove City, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Patrick and Stephanie O'Toole, Colm and Brogan Donston, and Mary, Abby and Liam O'Toole.Through the Irish Heritage Foundation, a tree will be planted in John's memory in his beloved Ireland, where his parents were born.
