James A. Armour

James A. Armour

James A. Armour, 82, of Gibsonia, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Jan. 4, 2022.

Born Aug. 14, 1939, in Sheakley ville, Pa., he was the son of the late James Raymond and Mary Forney Armour.

He was the beloved husband for 57 years of Susanne D. Ault Armour.

He was the loving father of AmyJo (Mark) Borrelli; and brother of Lee Armour (Dianna) and the late Jerry and David Armour.

Jim was a graduate of Thiel College and received a degree in physical therapy from D.T. Watson School of Physical Therapy (University of Pittsburgh) and a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health.

James was a longtime physical therapist, was in hospital administration at both Mercy and St. Margaret hospitals, and was a co-owner of River Valley Rehab Services, which operated at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital.

He was past president of the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association and past treasurer of the American Physical Therapy Association. Jim was also a past president and founding board member of The Lighthouse Foundation in Middlesex Township, a member of the Community Advisory Board at St. Barnabas Health System, and was a deacon, elder, and devoted member for many years at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown.

Some of his other most enjoyable moments were spent attending Pittsburgh Penguins games, skiing, golfing, making apple butter, and traveling with family and beloved friends.

ARMOUR — Family and friends of James A. Armour, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, will be invited to a memorial service in First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown at a future date and time.
