Joanne M. Morrow
Joanne M. Morrow, 90, of Butler, passed away, Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2022, in the comfort of her home.
Born Jan. 18, 1931, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late P. Joseph McLaughlin and Martha M. (Huff) McLaughlin.
Joanne was a 1949 graduate of Butler High School, and also a 1952 graduate of the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
She worked as a staff nurse at Butler Hospital from 1952 until 1977, then had been a nurse at the Clarence Brown School before working at the Butler VA Medical Center, from 1978 until retiring in 1993.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler, was a devoted mother and grandmother with a strong Christian faith.
Surviving are her children, Mark R. (Katie) Morrow, Joyce M. (Merle Jr.) Pears and Judith A. Morrow, all of Butler, and Richard L. (Oxana) Morrow Jr. of Clifton, Va.; her grandchildren, Lauren (James), Matthew (Melissa), Sam (Stephanie), Ryan, Sarah (Ryan), Nicholas (Alexis), Adam (MacKenzee), Anne, Anfisa, Andrea (Sean), and Alysa (Jeff); and her great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Layla, Weston, Lillian, Alayna and Baker.
She is also survived by her four brothers, Joseph E. (Dolores) McLaughlin of Richton Park, Ill., Thomas R. McLaughlin of Butler, Daniel P. McLaughlin of Tionesta, and Eugene J. McLaughlin of Butler; and her two sisters, Patricia A. Sutton of Butler, and Karen E. Rumin of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Morrow, whom she married May 29, 1954, and who passed away on Nov. 21, 1998; and her son, Michael N. Morrow, who passed Nov. 18, 1977.
MORROW — Friends of Joanne M. Morrow, who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler.
Interment will follow in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery, Butler.
