Tara Lynn Young

Tara Lynn Young, 45, of Butler, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1976, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Walter “Peanuts” and Patricia (Otto) Young.

She was a lifetime member of the Oneida Valley VFD, and was honorably a member of Chicora, Bruin, East Butler VFDs, and volunteered for the West Sunbury VFD and North Washington VFD. Tara eminently belonged to Royal Firefighters Association. She was also a den leader of the Oakland Township Cub Scouts.

She enjoyed playing the flute and the piccolo over the duration of her life. Tara was a member of the Butler Band and Meridian Fife and Drum.

She graduated from Edinboro University with a musical education degree, and played in the college band. Above all, her utmost joy was being a mom.

Surviving are her mother, Patricia Young of Butler; her son, Cole Young of Butler; a sister, Bridget Eyth of Butler; her brother, Neil Otto of Butler; her niece, Harley Eyth of Butler; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father; and her brother, Adam Young.

YOUNG — All are welcome to come for a celebration of life for Tara Lynn Young, who died Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, to be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department, 301 Oneida Valley Road, Butler.

Arrangements are under the direction of YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
