Kay Fitzwater
Kay E. Fitzwater, 75, of Mars, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Dec. 19, 1946, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Marian Martin Copenhaver.
Kay had been a secretary for a newspaper in Georgia and for a mechanic shop. She served two years with AmeriCorps at Suit Yourself in Butler.
She attended Crossway Community Church.
Kay organized the National Day of Prayer in 2010 for Butler County. She also was a member of Aglow Women’s Fellowship, and participated in a prayer group of pastors and laymen that met on Wednesdays in Butler.
Surviving are her two sons, Charles Benton Fitzwater of California and Roy Franklin (Sandra) Fitzwater of Portersville; her grandchildren, Julia Morgan, Callie Fitzwater, Claire Fitzwater and Hanna Fitzwater; and a sister, Nancy Smolko of Canfield, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Copenhaver.
