James E. Warburton

James E. Warburton, 79, of Butler, passed away on Jan. 2, 2022, following a short illness.

Jim was born May 7, 1942, in Wilkinsburg, and was the son of the late Harry Warburton and Elsie (Mahood) Warburton Markham.

He was a graduate of Moniteau High School and served in the National Guard.Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Shirley Lukavich Warburton, whom he married 54 years ago on Sept. 9, 1967.He is also survived by his son, Scott Warburton and his partner, Carolyn Mulkerrin; his brother, Chester (Jackie) Warburton; his sister, Eva Joy Irons (Ray Cooper); his brother-in-law, Jerry (Toni) Lukavich; and a number of nieces and nephews.Jim was employed at Wise Machine Company for many years as a machinist.He had many hobbies and talents. A favorite, which he shared with his son, Scott, was classic cars — repairing, driving and talking about them. He also always enjoyed fixing and making things with items that were too good to be thrown away. He had an exceptional talent in woodworking, and a testament to this talent is shown by many items in his church, the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where he also served as an elder for nine years.Jim was a Mason and Shriner and member of Butler Victory 272 Lodge, Syria Shrine Syria Motor Corps, where he drove a yellow roadster in many parades, and the Scottish Rite Consistory.WARBURTON — Visitation for James E. Warburton, who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.A Masonic service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, 115 Church St., Prospect, with the Rev. Dr. Larry Maley and the Rev.
