Giffin

Genevieve Giffin, 99, of Butler, passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Jan. 5, 1923, in New Castle, and was the daughter of the late Leopoldo and Roseanne (Pugliano) Burgo.

Genevieve and her husband owned and operated Giffin's Jewelry Store in Butler, from 1962 to 1987.

She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church. She also served as Butler Township auditor.

Surviving are her three sons, Thomas J. (Debora) Giffin of Tucson, Ariz., William J. Giffin of Portland, Ore., and David E. Giffin of Bellefonte; two grandchildren, Cassandra (Joseph) Dixon and Allison Giffin; and two great-grandsons, Cooper and Keegan Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joseph J. Giffin, who passed away on April 10, 2019; and 10 brothers and sisters.

GIFFIN — Friends of Genevieve Giffin, who died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the blessing service at 11 a.m Saturday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Masks are required to ensure the safety of all those present.

Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park Chapel.
