Butler schools announce cancellations, adjustments Thursday

Butler Area School District has canceled school Thursday in anticipation of the winter storm to hit the county Wednesday night.

The schools will operate on a traditional snow day, with no remote learning.

South Butler County School District and Freeport Area School District have made Thursday a flexible instruction day. Students will work remotely on a two-hour delay schedule.

Karns City Area School District will also operate remotely on Thursday. For the class schedules of Karns City High School and Chicora and Sugar Creek Elementary Schools, students and parents are encouraged to visit kcasdk12.org.

Seneca Valley School District will move to remote instruction on Thursday due to inclement weather. For information on the remote learning schedules for kindergarten through sixth grade, seventh through eighth grade and ninth through twelfth grade, visit svsd.net.

Slippery Rock School District and Moniteau School District will both be closed Thursday. Any other weather related communications will be posted on their websites
