Judith Schlegel
Judith A. Schlegel, 80, of Pine Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, after a brief Illness. Born Jan. 15, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Geraldine (Meyer) Miller. She was the beloved wife of Robert P. Schlegel, whom she married on June 12, 1965; loving mother of Jon A. (Diane) Schlegel, William D. (Ivy) Schlegel, Jennifer L. (Ted) Gregory and the late Robert P. Schlegel Jr.; grandma of 14 grandchildren; aunt of many nieces and nephews; and sister of William (Shirley) Miller.
Judi graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School in 1959 and Slippery Rock University in 1963 with a degree in health and physical education. She was a majorette for the Rock’s marching band. She met the love of her life, Bob, while teaching at Perrysville Elementary and the two were married for 57 years. After raising her own kids, she went back to teaching at Pine-Richland High School. She loved sports and watching her kids, grandkids and students through the years. She was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan and one of the last remaining, most die-hard, loyal Pirates fans. She loved the beach, the sun, her cats, and enjoyed her reading and taking care of her many indoor plants.
SCHLEGEL — Family and friends of Judith A. Schlegel, who died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, are welcome from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Darren Bowers.
Interment will follow at Holy Savior Cemetery, Pine Township.
