Edward Gubanic Jr.

Eddie Gubanic Jr.

Edward Anthony Gubanic Jr. of Shaler Township, passed on to the Lord on Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, at the age of 64.

He is survived by his siblings, Amy Raducz, Mark (Janet) Gubanic and Leslie (Bill) Stachelek; his nephews, Frank Raducz, Paul Gubanic and Jacob Raducz; his niece, Rachel (Seth) Dillon; and his great-niece, Deirdre Dillon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Leonora Gubanic; and his brother-in-law, Frank Raducz.

Eddie was a kind and sweet man, who was meticulously devoted to serving his family, friends, church, community, fellow man and Jesus Christ.

In his civic life, he served his community as a judge in many local elections, served on the Shaler School Committee, and every year at Christmas, he would deliver poinsettias to the elderly in the neighborhood.

In his spiritual life, he devoted more than 20 years to the Memorial Park Church in Allison Park. Many members of the congregation considered him the face of the church. In his role as a deacon, he served as a greeter, the administrator of Communion, was a member of the Bible study group, and was a witness to people inside and outside of the church. Inside the church, he was part of the Stephen Ministry, where he spent years teaching the entire Bible to disabled individuals. Outside the church, he witnessed with members of the Jewish community in Squirrel Hill. Eddie was truly a humble servant returned to God, and though he will be missed, his impact will live on in the lives of those he touched through the Holy Spirit.
