BC3 basketball nets sweep

Moniteau graduate Aslyn Pry tallied 28 points, 24 rebounds, five steals, four assists and four blocked shots Wednesday night as the Butler County Community College women’s basketball team defeated CCAC, 66-34, at the BC3 Fieldhouse.

Fellow Moniteau grad Zoey Hillwig contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Pioneers (6-6). Butler graduate Emma Monteleone had nine points and eight rebounds while Taylor Yost had 10 boards and Hailey Metzger eight.

BC3 had 63 rebounds to CCAC’s 40.

BC3 90, CCAC 72 — The Pioneer men (2-11, 1-3) picked up their second win of the season as Knoch grad Juian Sanks tallied 32 points and Butler grad Mattix Clement had 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Titus Fuller had 16 points, Austin Rodgers 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Millersville 77, Slippery Rock 69 — Lashon Lindsey scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds for The Rock (10-5, 6-3) in this road loss. Butler graduate Tyler Frederick had nine points and five boards.

Amante Britt and Frankie Hughes also scored nine points for SRU. James Sullivan led Millersville (15-4, 9-4) with 25.

Millersville 76, Slippery Rock (women) 66, OT — The Rock (10-5, 5-4) dropped its second game in as row despite getting 23 points, 18 rebounds and four assists from Jamiyah Johnson. It was her 14th double-double of the season.

Deleah Gibson and Anyah Curd tallied 10 points each for SRU. Kennedy Middleton scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Makiah Shaw drained a 3-pointer in the last second of regulation to force overtime for the Marauders (3-13, 2-9). It was Millersville’s lone trey of the night as it went 1 for 16 from beyond the arc.

Both SRU teams return home to host California (Pa.) Saturday.
