Susan J. Ernst, 78, of Zelienople, passed away on Jan. 22, 2022, at the Passavant Community.

She was born June 19, 1943, in Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of the late Clarence "Hammy" Hamill and the late June Hatherill Hamill.

Susan graduated from Butler Area High School.

She worked as a freelance abstractor.

Susan enjoyed reading, traveling and football, having loved the Steelers. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her daughter, S. Jonee (Chuck) Ernst-Mascellino of Evans City; her son, Derek Chad (Rita) Ernst of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, Dylan Mascellino, Ariana Mascellino, Alec Mascellino, Gabe Davis and Arabella Ernst; one brother; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Ernst, whom she married on April 24, 1964, and who passed away on Aug. 19, 2016; and one brother.

ERNST — Friends of Susan J. Ernst, who died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Darren Bowers of North Way Christian Church officiating.

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
