Julie McCommon
Julie Ann McCommon, 64, of Butler, passed away on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, while under the care of Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born July 27, 1957, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Steven Hawryliak and Florence Ross Hawryliak Lavery.
Julie was a graduate of Lenape Nursing School, and was employed as a nurse until the time of her transplant in 2006.
She loved camping, woodworking, sewing and fishing. She was a heart transplant recipient and believed strongly in sharing the gift of life. She did her best to make the most out of the gift she was given that allowed her to be with us for those extra years. She battled and survived cancer twice and chose to be thankful to be able to fight rather than complain. She led by example to her last breath. We love you and will miss you until we meet again.
Julie leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, David McCommon; her sons, Joshua McCommon and Shawn McCommon; her daughter-in-law, Danielle Dramble McCommon; her grandchildren, Destiny and Dylan McCommon; her siblings, Jeannie Hawryliak Schoonover, Janet Hawryliak Moorland, Mary Jane Hawryliak Ackerman, Sam Hawryliak and Donald Hawryliak; her many nieces and nephews that were extremely close that she loved; as well as friends that will miss her for many years to come.
In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Hawryliak and Charles Lavery.
MCCOMMON — A celebration of life to be held at a later date for Julie Ann McCommon, who died Friday, Jan. 21, 2022.
