Evelyne Ruth Okeson, 98, of Butler, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 5, 1923, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late DeWitt and Erla (Cochran) Stevenson.

Evelyne was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She graduated in 1940 from Butler High School.

Evelyne worked for 21 years for Culligan Water Conditioning in Butler and Pittsburgh, and was the cafeteria manager for the Butler area schools.

She enjoyed camping.

Surviving are her three sons, Arthur Lee Okeson of Pasadena, Texas, Richard Gary (Rhonda) Okeson of Sarver, and James Jay Okeson of Butler; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Pauline Rodgers of Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Arthur Floyd Okeson Jr., who passed away June 24, 1983; and two brothers.

OKESON — Private visitation and service for Evelyne Ruth Okeson, who died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, were held at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.

Private entombment will be held Butler County Memorial Park.
