Shirley McWithey
Shirley Jean McWithey, 95, of Zelienople, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, while under the care of Paramount Senior Living in Seven Fields.
Born Sept. 4, 1926, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Lutz and Ora Smith Lutz.
Shirley was a faithful member of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Zelienople, where in her young years, she was involved with the women's ministry and was a Sunday school teacher.
She volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
In her free time, Shirley was an avid bowler and a pianist, and enjoyed playing cards in the clubs she belonged to. She also enjoyed decorating her home with birds, enjoyed flower gardening, and she was a dog lover. Above all, Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Virginia “Ginni” Smoke and her husband, Steven, of Cranberry Township, and Bradley McWithey and his wife, Lorene, of Parma, Ohio; her grandchildren, Shannon, Alicia, Heather, Jason and Ryan; and her five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Norman McWithey, who passed away in 2014; and her sister, Carol Kos.
MCWITHEY — Friends of Shirley Jean McWithey, who died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. immediately following the viewing Thursday at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti officiating.
She will be laid to rest at St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063.
