Hughston Anthony
Hughston F. Anthony, 71, of Butler, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born Aug. 22, 1950, in Butler, and was the son of the late John Anthony and Mary Carolyn (Aiken) Anthony Durci.
Hughston served in the Air Force for four years. He worked at the Butler Post Office, where he retired after 30 years. He worked part time at Salvation Army in Butler. In his free time, he loved to play golf, cards and bingo. He also loved to fish.
Surviving is the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, Jessica J. Anthony; two daughters, Hope (Jamie) Lane of Valatie, N.Y., and Angela (Steve) Claypoole of Butler; four grandchildren, Noah (Abby) Claypoole of Butler, Mackenzee Claypoole of Butler, Desiree Lane of Valatie, N.Y., and Colby Walthour of Valatie, N.Y.; two sisters, JoAnn (John) Schnur of Butler and Sandra Durci of Butler; a brother, Donald (Karen) Anthony of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews. Hughston was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Richard Anthony.
ANTHONY — Friends of Hughston F. Anthony, who died Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, will be received from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Jim Lewis with military honors to follow.
Private interment will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.
