Madeline M. Neff
Madeline M. “Sis” Neff, 96, of Butler, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday morning, Dec. 19, 2021.
Born Sept. 10, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Joseph B. Weiland and Florence “Tippy” (Eyth) Weiland.
She was an angel, who was always smiling, and had loved to be with her family.
Sis retired from J.C. Penney, and then with her husband owned Neff's Country Store, which they ran for 35 years. She was very involved with family businesses.
She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Women of the Moose.
Surviving are her children, Larry (Kay) Neff, Gary (Nancy) Neff, Carol Tomasovic, Douglas Neff and Connie Severino; eight grandchildren, Jared (Tracey) Neff, Michelle (Joseph) Zandarski, Col. Brian (Angela) Neff, Angela (Garrett) Mankey, Dustin (Savannah) Neff, Amy (John) Proudfoot, Todd (Jackie) Graham and Carrie (Donnie) Anderson; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Emma) Weiland; four sisters-in-law, Grace Sechler, Doris Weiland, Shirley Craig and Grace Weiland; one brother-in-law, Jack Gibbs; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Neff; three sons, Francis, John and Edward Neff; one daughter, Diana Lynn Neff; one son-in-law, Edward S. Tomasovic Jr.; five brothers; and three sisters.
NEFF — A Mass of Christian burial for Madeline M. “Sis” Neff, who died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. The Rev. Matt McClain, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Wendelin's Parish Cemetery.
