Virginia “Ginny” Skeddle of New Sewickley Township, passed away Jan. 17, 2022, while under the care of Mercy Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born April 24, 1944, in Fremont, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucille (Magnette) Mehling.

Ginny was a registered nurse in both hospital and home care, which she especially loved for the bonds made with her patients.

Ginny loved spending time in her backyard oasis at home and at camp in Cook Forest. She was an award winning garden club member, an accomplished crafter and golfer, as well as a world traveler.

She will be greatly missed by Alan Skeddle, her loving husband of 38 years; and her daughter, Kristyn Woofter (Larry).

She was the proud grandmother of David (Megan) and Stephen Woofter; and great- grandmother of Emerus Woofter.

She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her stepchildren, Marcee Gregg (Matt) and David Skeddle; as well as her best friend and sister-in-law, Gail Jackson.

Also mourning her loss are her sister and brothers-in-law, Jane Hoch, Thisha Turner, and Jim and Joe Dauble; and the Mehling nephews, Matt, Doug, Ryan and Eric.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by David E. Daubel; and her brother, Robert Mehling and his wife, Janet.

SKEDDLE — Family and friends of Virginia “Ginny” Skeddle, who died Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, are welcome from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ferdinand Church.

Interment will follow at Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Ginny’s name to Good Samaritan Hospice.
