David Hartman
David “Dave” Louis Hartman, 60, of Butler, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022.
Born Dec. 18, 1961, in McCandless Township, he was the son of Ginger Haefner Hartman Meloy and her husband, David Meloy, and the late David Louis Hartman.
Dave was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School and earned his A.A. degree from Butler County Community College. He also attended trade school for HVAC.
He worked for and then became the owner and operator of Fence by Maintenance Service. He was very successful in business and well respected by all in the industry.
He loved racing, and really enjoyed NASCAR and local racing. His business sponsored several local drivers.
He enjoyed the many cruises he took with his wife, Debbie. Above all, Dave was a family man, who loved being a husband and father and “pap.” He taught his sons through his example how to be independent, kind and good husbands and father. He was especially looking forward to his years as a “pap.” He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and lovingly remembered.
Dave leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 38 years, Debra "Debbie" Wagner Hartman, whom he married on Sept. 10, 1983; his sons, Ryan (Kate) Hartman of Mooresville, N.C., and Cody (Mariel) Hartman of Butler; his grandchildren, Chase, Brooks and one on the way; his brothers, Dan (Tracy) Hartman of Butler, and David (Autumn) Hartman of McDonough, Ga.; his nieces, Maggie, Emme, Saxon, Samantha Jo, and Karaline; his mother-in-law, Carol Wagner of Butler; his brother-in-law, Keith Wagner of Butler; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
