Brady Twp lacks website

BRADY TWP — Residents of Brady Township expressed concerns over the supervisors’ lack of a website and how funds are being used at a meeting Wednesday night.

During public comment, resident Cindy Rudish said supervisors were not meeting their responsibilities in a number of ways. She said Brady Township hasn’t had a website for some time and that it’s inconveniencing residents and discouraging them from attending public meetings.

“The website was taken down because (supervisors) said, quote, ‘because we have no one to run the website.’ The secretary/treasurer and webmaster is trained to do that job,” Rudish said.

Chairman Kenneth Hertzog said there were no plans to reestablish the township’s website.

The supervisors voted to adopt the Code Adoption Ordinance, which solicitor Ronald Coyer said is a codification of the township’s existing legislature.

“In the big picture, it doesn’t change anything,” Coyer said. “Anything inconsistent was repealed.”

Supervisors also voted to build three bathrooms at the township’s new building at 131 West Liberty Road. Residents questioned the building of three bathrooms, saying two would save money.

Hertzog said there is no set date for the completion of the building, but the garage is already stocking township vehicles.

“It’s a work in progress,” Hertzog said. “We’re going to build offices as needed. We don’t know what we’ll do with the current building.”

Rudish said she hoped the new building wouldn’t be taking away funds to care for township roads.

“I hope our roads come before the building,” she said.

Supervisors also voted to appoint Janet Thompson to the Planning Commission Board in the township.

To close the meeting, supervisors discussed Spring Clean Up to take place May 20, 21 and 22. Residents of Brady Township can drop off various items in dumpsters placed at the township building during those days.
