Richard Christy
Richard L. “Pinky” Christy, 89, of Butler, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot, surrounded by his family.
Born Feb. 9, 1932, in Butler, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Esther E. (Walters) Christy.
Richard was employed as a foreman and a crane operator for R.R. Schubert in Butler, until his retirement.
He was a member of East Butler Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and Sunday school treasurer.
Richard enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Richard C. Christy, Brian L. Christy and his wife, Sharon, and Debra D. Panei and her husband, James, all of Butler; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude M. Christy, whom he married on Oct. 26, 1949, and who died on June 2, 2014; his parents; three brothers; and a sister.
CHRISTY — Family and friends of Richard L. “Pinky” Christy, who died Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, are invited to a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at East Butler Presbyterian Church, 9th Street at Randolph Ave., East Butler, with the Rev. Mary Kitchen officiating.
Burial will be next to his wife at North Butler Cemetery in Oakland Township.
