Scheerbaum

Earl L. Scheerbaum, 82, of Buffalo Township, passed away at his home Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, while surrounded by his family.

Earl was born Feb. 18, 1939, in his family home in Buffalo Township, and was a son of the late Thelma (Stevenson) and Gustave Scheerbaum.

He was employed as a truck driver at Allegheny Ludlum Steel for 35 years. Earl worked for W.L. Roenigk Inc. for 52 years, as a bus driver, plow truck driver and anything else the company needed.

Earl and his wife were active members of the Freeport Odd Fellows Lodge 379. He was a past grand master of the Odd Fellows.

Earl enjoyed working and caring for his family farm.

Earl is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elaine (Teeters) Scheerbaum; two daughters, Terri (Robert) Dorr of New Castle, and Sherri (Thomas) Barone of Cranberry Township; and his stepson, Eric (Tammy) Sterling of New Kensington.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melvin Scheerbaum; and his sisters, Harriett Mackrell and Henrietta Garvin.

SCHEERBAUM — Per his request, there will be no public visitation for Earl L. Scheerbaum, who died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, Freeport.
