Maurer

John Charles Maurer, 89, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 18, 1932, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of the late Elmer John and Flora (Striff) Maurer.

John was a member of Victory Lodge 694, Scottish Rite of New Castle and Syria Temple.

Surviving are his caregiver, Hageng Gold of Butler; and her daughter, Judy (Rod) Wise; and his nephew, Frank Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Julia Stivenson Maurer.

MAURER — Friends of John Charles Maurer, who died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, will be received from 6 p.m. until the time of a Masonic service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Private interment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
