A number of sports practice sessions were canceled by the athletic director at Butler Area School District, according to superintendent Brian White, but the day was already a day off for teachers and students.

“We did not have teacher-professional development scheduled–we were truly off today,” White said. “We’re opening up tomorrow on time–that’s our goal.”

A varsity girls' basketball game Monday night at South Butler County School District was canceled. Knoch will play a girls' varsity and a boys' varsity double-header Tuesday night. Girls will play at 6:00 and boys at 7:30.

“We’re just working on what we are going to do tomorrow at this point, but for today, everything is canceled,“ South Butler superintendent David Foley said.

Cranberry Township

All Parks & Recreation programs in Cranberry Township have been canceled, including pickleball and fitness programs. The Cranberry Township Municipal Building is scheduled to close at 5 p.m. All programs are expected to run as usual Tuesday.

Cranberry trash collections for Monday are canceled and delayed by 1 day this week.

A message posted on the Township website reminded residents to assist the Public Works department by staying off the roads until the snow event has ended and only driving if necessary.
