Richard J. McClaine
Richard J. “Dick” McClaine, 95, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at his residence. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Born May 29, 1926, in East Brady, he was a son of the late Lee C. McClaine and Wilda (Harmon) McClaine.
Dick was retired as a lineman from West Penn Power. He also worked as a trainer at the West Penn Power in West Kittanning. Following his retirement, he enjoyed attending the West Penn Power retiree breakfast.
He also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii with his wife, Evelyn, gardening, and especially spending time with his family.
He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Kay Werth of Ohio and Constance (Brian) Sawford of Butler; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; his daughters-in-law, Cris McClaine and Kathy McClaine; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn McClaine, whom he was married to for 70 years; two sons, Richard J. McClaine Jr. and Donald L. McClaine; a grandson, Peter James McClaine; two brothers; five sisters; and his son-in-law, John L. Werth.
MCCLAINE — Friends of Richard J. “Dick” McClaine, who died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.
Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
