Izetta Ries Wilson
Izetta Ries Wilson, 91, of Allison Park, formerly of Richland/Valencia, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2021, after a courageous, but brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late James R. Wilson, who passed away on April 22, 1985. They were married on June 4, 1949.
She was born on April 22, 1930, in Whitaker, Pa., and was the daughter of the late George and Izetta (McMillen) Ries.
A 1948 graduate of Munhall High School, she then worked for Peoples National Bank, before becoming a wife and mother. She was a longtime partner of Wilson's Pharmacy in Lawrenceville.
She was a member of the North Suburban Fine Arts League, Butler County Junior Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and active in the Rich-Mar Rotary. She participated in multiple school groups.
She faithfully worshipped at Bakerstown United Methodist Church, where she served on many church committees throughout her 47 years as a member.
She will be remembered for her strong faith, kind demeanor, and engaging personality. She was an avid reader, who enjoyed golf, traveling, and spending time at the family home in Gold Canyon, Ariz.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Gayle Santillo (Bob) of Valencia, Jeffrey (Deb) of Gibsonia, and Brad (Jenny) of Farmington Hills, Mich.
She was the sister of Donald (Karen) Ries of Ellwood City; the dear grandmother of Andrew (Ashley) Wilson, Jayme (Matthew) Orn, Cara (Zach) Carter, Robert Santillo, Matthew (Lisa) Wilson, Tyler (Ellie) Wilson and Brady Wilson; and the great-grandmother of Avary, Hunter, Eleanor and Stella Wilson, Liana, Mari, Michael, Jana, Andrew and Felicity Orn, and Teddy and Abigail Izetta Carter.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 36 years, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Laila Engelbert and Louise Wulf; her brother, Jesse Ries; and her beloved granddaughter, Lauren Wilson.
WILSON — Family and friends of Izetta R. Wilson, who died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bakerstown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Dunn and the Rev. William Dambach officiating.
Interment will be private.
Memorial donations may be made in Izetta's name to the Bakerstown United Methodist Church, 5760 William Flynn Highway, Gibsonia, PA 15044.
