Thomas D. Ballew

Thomas D. Ballew, 62, of Butler, formerly of Prospect, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 21, 1958, in Ellwood City, and was the son of Robert L. and Florence M. Shaner Ballew.

He was a farm laborer.

He was an avid hunter, and he loved his dogs, Patches and Spot.

Survivors include four brothers, Raymond and James of Butler, Robert Ballew of Slippery Rock, and Arthur (Shelly) Ballew of Prospect; four sisters, Shirley (Michael) Ackelson of Butler, Sheila Schrecengost of Butler, Patricia (Roy) Ballew of Butler and Connie (Joe) Heinl of Prospect; 14 nephews and nieces; and numerous great- nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bill.

BALLEW — There will be no public visitation for Thomas D. Ballew, who died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at the EMS building in Portersville, with a luncheon to follow.

Arrangements were entrusted to Jay Bryan Funeral Home in Prospect.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
