Robert D. “Bob” Hoffman, 90, died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021.

He was a graduate of Mount Lebanon High School, and West Virginia University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. While at WVU, Bob met his future wife, Mary Ardeth Jones of Beckley, W.Va. The two married shortly after college, and moved to Italy, where he served as first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

Robert D. “Bob” Hoffman, 90, died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021.He was a graduate of Mount Lebanon High School, and West Virginia University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. While at WVU, Bob met his future wife, Mary Ardeth Jones of Beckley, W.Va. The two married shortly after college, and moved to Italy, where he served as first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.After returning to the United States, he worked at Mellon Bank. He later moved into management, consulting with Alexander Proudfoot Co. in Chicago, Ill., Anthony B. Cassidy Associates in Ridgefield, Conn., and Magnetics Inc., later acquired by Spang & Co, in Butler. He became certified as a personnel consultant and established his own firm, Robert D. Hoffman and Associates. After retirement, he took a position as manager at the Park Mansions in Oakland, Pa.He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard A. and H. Aline Hoffman of Mount Lebanon.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Ardeth (Jones) Hoffman of Butler; and six children, Kathleen Hoffman of Butler, Dr. Robert D. Hoffman and his wife, Dr. Rosana Eisenberg, of Nashville, Tenn., Richard H. Hoffman of Juba, South Sudan, Jeffrey A. Hoffman and his wife, Allison, of Loveland, Ohio, Suzanne Meyer of Oakmont, Pa., and Todd Hoffman and his wife, Deborah Brake, of Forest Hills, Pa.; his brother, Donald Hoffman of Naples, Fla.He is also survived by 12 beloved grandchildren, Laura Hoffman, Kathryn Crittenden, Marie Hoffman, John Crittenden, Ben Hoffman, Eva Hoffman, Sam Hoffman, Aidan Meyer, Elleanna Meyer, Peter Hoffman, Charlotte Brake-Hoffman and Samantha Brake-Hoffman.HOFFMAN — The family will be honoring Robert D. “Bob” Hoffman, who died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, in a private ceremony at a later date.Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg, was entrusted with arrangements.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Butler VA Medical Center.Please visit www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
