Gary D. Ellenberger, 59, of Chicora, died unexpectedly on Dec. 7, 2021.

Gary was born Aug. 28, 1962, in Butler. He was the son of Jane Peorschke Ellenberger of Penn Hills, and the late Harold Ellenberger.

He was a 1980 graduate of Karns City Area High School.

Gary was a hard working person, who loved his dogs, the outdoors, cutting firewood, running machinery and ATVs. Most of all, he loved to fish.

In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his wife, Christina Waldroup Ellenberger; his sons, Travis Ellenberger and Jacob Ellenberger; his daughters, Tiffany Collins Ellenberger, Jeanie Ellenberger and Rochelle Ealy; a sister, Diana Schubert; and a brother, David Ellenberger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Ellenberger.

ELLENBERGER — Friends of Gary D. Ellenberger, who died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at Christ’s Family Church, 334 W. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.

A funeral service will begin at 7:15 p.m. at the church and will be officiated by Pastor John Pistorius.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City.
