Charles J. Dickey

Charles J. “Bo” Dickey, 73, of Butler, passed away on Dec. 6, 2021, at his residence.

He was born July 27, 1948, in Butler, and was the son of the late Clarence Edward Dickey and the late Pearl Irene (Morrison) Dickey.

Charles was a 1966 graduate of Butler High School.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a postal carrier for 37 years.

Charles enjoyed golfing, playing softball and he enjoyed long-distance cycling. He was an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan.

Charles was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and attended First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy (John) Fleeger of Butler; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Abbey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carol A. Hegburg; and two brothers, Clarence “Sonny” E. Dickey and William “Billy” D. Dickey.

DICKEY — Friends of Charles J. “Bo” Dickey, who died Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

The funeral will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Janz of First United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Butler Meals on Wheels, 218 East Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001, or Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
