Barrie Smaretsky
Barrie J. Smaretsky, 83, of Butler, passed away on Dec. 6, 2021, at Sugar Creek Nursing Home in Worthington.
Born Aug. 31, 1938, in Meridian, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Earl and Modena Deal.
Barrie was a member of St. John's Reformed Church in Meridian.
She enjoyed reading, but most of all she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.
Barrie is survived by her son, Michael Alexander Smaretsky Jr. and her daughter-in-law, Jill Smaretsky.
She also leaves behind two sisters, Jenny Forter (David) and Hope Sisley (Jim); and her brother, Edwin Earl Deal.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan Smaretsky (Megan), Kaitlin Selby (Jon), Philip Smaretsky (Mara), Trevor Smith (Emily), and Gavin Smith; as well as her sister-in-law, Kathryn Smaretsky.
Her great-grandchildren include Adelaide, Taylor, Nolan, Michael and Charley Smaretsky, as well as Bodhi Selby.
Barrie was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Smaretsky Sr., who passed away in 2017; a daughter, Tammi Smith; a son, Douglas Smaretsky; her sisters, Gaye Wiest and Daneen King; and her brother, Billy Jim Deal.
Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Barrie will be forever missed.
SMARETSKY — Friends of Barrie J. Smaretsky, who died Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, will be received from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at 8 p.m. Thursday at Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew, with the Rev. Jarrod Crawford of St. John's Reformed Church officiating.
Barrie will be laid to rest privately at Rose Hill Cemetery.
