Gayle R. Thompson
Gayle R. Thompson, 71, of Cabot, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 20, 1950, in Grove City, he was the son of the late Dean Thompson and Hazel Early Thompson.
He was a graduate of Grove City High School. He worked for Pullman Standard. Gayle retired from Oberg Industries. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, scratch-off lottery tickets, watching “Gunsmoke” and watching Pittsburgh sports teams on TV. Gayle loved spending time with his grandchildren. Gayle was the most loving and caring person who will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his loving daughters, Crystal (Lyle) Sterner of East Brady, Kelly Jo (Steven) Hahn of Cabot, and Gail Ann (Timothy Paul) Parker of Butler; seven grandchildren who lovingly called him Papa, Alexander McCandless, Elizabeth Neff, Jessica Neff, Noah Thompson Hahn, Alleysa Parker, Jacob Parker and Joshua Parker; stepgrandchildren, Dominique Sterner, Krysta Sterner and Lyle Sterner Jr.; great-granddaughter, Allyson Codispot; his siblings who affectionately called him Bubby, David (Mary) Thompson of Grove City, Margaret “Peggy” (Steve) Adams of Sharon, Dawn (Mark) Grace of Barkeyville, Karen (Paul) Shoop of Grove City, and Susan (Kenneth) Crispen of Rimersburg, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah A. Thompson; brother, Larry Thompson; and infant brother, Dean Thompson Jr.
Thompson — Friends of Gayle R. Thompson, who died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, will be received from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
