'Do not knock' list available in Cranberry
CRANBERRY TWP — Township residents have the opportunity to enroll in the township’s “Do Not Knock” list.
Residents can opt-in to the township’s registry of residents whose homes may not be visited by solicitors, such as door-to-door sales of any goods, commodities or services. New enrollment began Nov. 1, and residents who were on the list prior to then must reregister.
The registry is available to homeowners who wish to prohibit commercial door-to-door sales calls at their homes. Individuals who attempt to register large numbers of addresses will be identified by the system.
Soliciting is restricted to the hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is not permitted on Sundays or holidays. Individuals going door-to-door not selling anything are not required to have a permit. This includes conducting surveys, distributing religious literature and political canvassing.
Those soliciting must wear an identification badge issued by the Cranberry Township Police Department.
