Daniel J. Smith, 55, of Butler, passed away at 11:33 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital from complications.

Daniel was born on Aug. 14, 1966, in Butler, and was the son of the late Abraham Lincoln Smith and the late Dolores Ann Schmoll Smith.

Daniel attended North Street Christian Church in Butler.

He was employed at Butler Shredding Co.

He was a member of the Butler Blind Association, and was a member of the Butler Lions Club.

Daniel enjoyed listening to sports on TV or the radio, and enjoyed going bowling and fishing.

Daniel is survived by one sister, Laura L. Halstead of West Sunbury; one nephew, Randal Halstead of West Sunbury; two great-nieces, Aliyhaa Hankins and Noveah Halstead, both of Butler; one great-nephew, Wallace Halstead of Clarion; two uncles: Robert (Rita) Schmoll of Karns City and Richard Schmoll of West Sunbury; and a number of cousins.

Daniel was preceded in death by one nephew, Ford Lee Halstead.

SMITH — Family and friends of Daniel J. Smith, who died Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Jacob Klutinoty of North Street Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be held privately in Calvary Cemetery.
