Marie Ellen Thomas
Marie Ellen Thomas, 78, of Petrolia, formerly of Grove City, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born July 5, 1943, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Albert Fiscaletti and Alice Pennington Fiscaletti.
She graduated from high school in Brooklyn. She married John A. Thomas on Sept. 11, 1964, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1994.
She and her family owned and operated Anthony's Family Restaurant in Grove City from 1984 until 1996. She enjoyed reading, jewelry, watching crime TV and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She took great pride in her heritage of being from Brooklyn, and was always delighted to discuss the city where she was born.
Survivors include her son, Andrew J. (Amy) Thomas of West Middlesex; her daughters, Lisa M. (Frank) Suhoney of Slippery Rock, and Christina L. (Joshua) Miller of Petrolia; two sisters, Patricia (Doug) Venezia and Nancy (Doug) Ballo, all of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
THOMAS — There will be a private service to celebrate the life of Marie Ellen Thomas, who died Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, and will be held Friday morning at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Grove City.
