ESU celebrates with first holiday party

Officers of the Butler County Emergency Services Unit (ESU) held their first holiday party Dec. 17 at the Stables in Connoquenessing.

The unit is comprised of police officers and paramedics from various departments in the county, and it helps police departments involved in criminal incidents, such as active-shooter events, high-risk warranted arrests and manhunts.

“The men and women of Butler ESU would like to thank Pat Boylan and The Stables at Connoquenessing for generously donating their banquet hall for the event, and Kelly Monteverde and Monteverde’s Catering for providing a delicious dinner,” Edward Lenz, commander of the ESU, said in a statement.

There are 35 people in the unit with 24 police officers and 11 medics, as well as support personnel. There were 45 people at the party.
