Parking will be free in the city of Butler from now until Dec. 31, so drivers can get downtown to enjoy the holiday season.

A news release from the city said Mayor Ben Smith declared parking to be free at all metered spots, and two hours of free parking will remain on Main Street. Enforcement will continue at garages and parking lots.

The news release encourages people to support local shops in downtown Butler.
