Dennis Buffington

Dennis P. “Buff” Buffington, 59, of West Sunbury, passed away on Nov. 17, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 22, 1962, in Cheverly, Md., and was the son of the late Donald L. Buffington and the late Maxine A. Patten Buffington.

Buff was Lutheran by faith.

He worked at Slippery Rock University as an accountant.

Buff enjoyed playing guitar and writing music. He loved driving his Jeep and Mustang. Buff especially loved being with his grandkids.

Buff is survived by his wife, Sheryl Buffington, whom he married on April 26, 1986; one son, Jereme (Jessica) Buffington of Butler; one daughter, Sara (Adam) Farren of Butler; five grandchildren, Cassiel Buffington, Amara Buffington, Ezriel Buffington, David Farren and Harvey Farren; one brother, Bruce Buffington of Butler; two sisters, Julie Buffington of Butler, and Joni (Dave) Rusnak of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Buffington.

BUFFINGTON — Friends of Dennis P. “Buff” Buffington, who died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler, with Pastor Joel A. Benson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or American Diabetes Association, 112 Washington Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
