James H. DeGrange

James H. “Jim” DeGrange, 85, of Karns City, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 14, 2021, while in the comfort of his home.

James was born in Butler on May 4, 1936. He was the son of the late David K. and Lois Dipner DeGrange.

James was of the Christian faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Grand Prix racing.

He retired as a water treatment operator from Armco in Butler.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Sally Welton, and her family, of Karns City; a son, Robert Roberts, and his wife, Jerri, of California; two grandsons; two sisters, Barbara Lunn and her husband, George, and Jean Young and her husband, Ron; and a brother, Jack DeGrange; as well as a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

DeGrange — Friends of James H. “Jim” DeGrange, who died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City.

A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Floyd Barnhart, a United Methodist pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
