Nancy S. Halstead

Nancy S. Halstead, 93, of Saxonburg, passed away on Nov. 8, 2021, at her home.

Born Feb. 20, 1928, in Sarver, she was the daughter of Lonnie R. Staley and Florence Hanford Staley.

Nancy was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sarver, where she had served as church secretary and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Sarver Community Choir.

She enjoyed music, sewing, and serving and caring for her family.

Surviving are her son, James H. (Linda) Halstead of Saxonburg; three daughters, Rebecca (David) Griffith of Winston-Salem, N.C., Ellen (David) Fogel of Saxonburg, and Ruth (Tom) Bates of San Antonio, Texas; her sister, Maxine Wetzel of Saxonburg; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard L. Halstead, who passed away Oct. 16, 2016; one son, Jon Halstead; one daughter, Melinda Halstead Pegher; and one great-granddaughter, Emily Linamen.

HALSTEAD — Friends of Nancy S. Halstead, who died Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, will be received from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 210 Westminster Road, Sarver, with the Rev. Rob Swinsburg officiating.

Interment will follow in Westminster Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
